Write Every Day: Day #4
(Editing the time stamp slightly to make it look like I'm posting this while it's still the 4th over here.)
I still didn't sleep that well last night, though at least it was a bit better quality sleep, so I felt more like a person than yesterday. But a person with very little brain. I did get some things done today, though. It would have been smart to go to bed early, but then I started doing some things. Ah well, at least the things put me in a better mood than I'd been all day!
I'm in trepidation of the heat wave that is to come over for the next few days. Today already felt super sticky and hot and uncomfortable, although the temperature was actually just 20 °C or so. The next few days are supposed to be a lot hotter, and I'm not good with heat...
Well, I'd definitely better crash down to bed after posting this!
Today's Writing
Well, I came up with an improved title and summary for the fluff ficlet, but there's one part of it I keep waffling about, so I still didn't post it... Hopefully tomorrow!
But I also started a fic for Genprompt Bingo. Though the fic isn't actually gen. But that isn't a requirement, fortunately.
I also did some research, by which I mostly mean that I looked at books on fashion history about the relevant time period, because it's fun and can be done also without much brain. I never tire of history of fashion. The things people wore! Humans, so very very ridiculous if you give them any spare time and resources.

4th and 5th: I'm still banging my head against this rewrite, argh! The whole fic is only a few thousand words, but every paragraph seems to want to fight me!

Sorry you're still struggling with your rewrite! Here's to hoping it'll start cooperating soon.

I wrote 1085 on the H50 fic tonight, and I also spent some proctoring time today jotting notes, so I think I've got the ending for real. I'm envisioning four more scenes, including the one I started today. I also just broke the 18K mark with this "short" story, so it's going to go much longer than I'd thought. I don't care, however, because I'm still enjoying it immensely. :-)

* Marinette comes up at least to Gaston's nose and is entirely capable of breaking all his bones one-handed and before he even processes he's getting his ass kicked by the foreign beauty he has ten years on. (Which is probably exactly how he phrases it, too.)
* Adrien is tall enough by 21st century standards. In this setting, he is TOL. Also, he's not bulky like Gaston but he's definitely built more than solidly enough for Gaston to notice Adrien's presence means Gaston might no longer be the most dangerous person in town.
* The Enchantress is a Miraculous wielder. And that stained glass in the prologue is...not what she looks like when transformed. The young blonde in the green ball gown isn't, anyway; the old beggar is probably fairly accurately depicted.
* Ladybug and Chat Noir are absolutely going to start off treating the Beast like a cross between a standard-issue akuma and an akuma-controlled Chat Noir.

I don't know where this day went. I squeaked out 144 words on Mischief Christmas. I HAVE to get moving faster.

And then I went back into another prompt fill that I'm having to do the "write through the block, and soon enough, you'll find the thing that's eluding you" to it to see whether or not I'm actually going to get something quality or if it, or whether it will be some other thing.

I'm not going to worry about it (except I do need to work harder on the nonfiction project). I'm just going to spend the rest of the week poking at things and writing alibi sentences. Taking a "vacation" rather than fretting might help.
