Write Every Day: Day #3

It turns out, perhaps unsurprisingly, that being on all day on a research trip is tiring. Since I don't have a surfeit of spoons anyway (the figurative kind; though mind you, I'm also low on tea spoons), I ended up being very tired today. Especially since I also slept poorly, brain being overwhelmed or something. So I've sort of puttered about all day, mostly not getting the things done that I should have done. But I figured I need a quiet day, and hopefully tomorrow I'll feel well-rested. Means I'm giving you all just a quick no-frills check-in post now.

I also didn't get around to writing until quite late - though I did do some writing on writing. Anyway, eventually I managed to edit my second Fluff Bingo ficlet according to beta comments, and I created a draft for it on AO3. I didn't post it yet, because I'm hoping that I'll come up with a better title and/or summary once I've slept properly.

Creating a draft without posting in the hopes of coming up with a better title is very much relatable.

Today I added some words to the story I started on the first. I have a general idea of how I want the whole thing to go, so I'll be slowly chipping away at it.

Finished and posted the thing I started on May 31 that was supposed to be 3 sentences and is nearer 3K. Wrote and posted two actual three-sentence ficlets; okay, one of them's six sentences, but I had to show both sides of the story, right? And I'm most of a thousand words into another thing that was supposed to be three sentences, and, um, this is two complete sections of five or maybe six. And the first four sections are wholly introspective, so I'm kind of expecting section five (and, if applicable, six) to be a lot wordier, because that's where the characters actually interact!

...I'm having a lot of fun going through old 3 Sentence Ficathon prompts but I think I am failing at the goal of the ficathon...

[1.1k on a new chapter today, starting to get a little more productive on desktop. tomorrow i have a four hour meeting and a date planned so writing will be taking a back seat, i can tell. unless i get 1k written before i get to sleep tonight? wish me luck ]

Congrats on finishing your story and good luck on finding the right title and summary. I also wish you many good hours of sleep.

As I also did not sleep well last night (anxiety), I can definitely relate to being brain-fogged today. I had a half-day, but the wrong half, only realizing I didn't have to be at work until 12:20 when I arrived there at 7:50am. I came home and got my writing done (and some reading, as well, which was a nice bonus), which is a good thing, because the lack-of-sleep definitely caught up with me this afternoon. So. Tired. *sighs*

Anyway, I added 1199 words to the H50 fic, and I also jotted some plot direction notes during exam proctoring this afternoon. I think there may actually be an ending for this beast. ;-)

I hear you. I spent the day driving across three states to go back to my parents'. I managed 124 words on mischief christmas

I looked at a prompt, had an idea for a short fill to it. It's not short any more, but it is done, be hopefully, it will be enjoyed.

Just a couple of alibi sentences for me. I spent time sort of poking at things but got nothing done on anything. REALLY uninspired today, argh.

Here's to a rest day being beneficial! I had unexpected rest myself, yesterday (my sister took over chicken duty and sick kitty #2 turned out to be not so sick that we needed that vet appointment after all - also a head cold, but treatable at home), which really helped, so I got in 430 words for the Crazy Crossover.
