I'm slower at writing by hand than I am at typing, but I find it opens different flows of creativity in my brain, so it's really good to do it sometimes. And especially if a story is having difficulties or I'm unsure about it, writing by hand somehow makes it easier to just try and write. :-) Glad writing by hand worked for you, and you were able to progress on your story nicely!
