My year in music (and, uh, audio drama) according to Spotify

My Spotify Wrapped for this year and decade is a bit odd, as I originally got Spotify Premium in order to listen to Big Finish audios for Doctor Who - they've got a lot of the early audios there, including the audios 1-50 of the main Doctor Who range. But I also did use it to listen to actual music!

So I've mostly got a pretty normal and representative-looking "what you listened to most each year/season" list but my most listened to artist is... Doctor Who. And typically I just listen through the audios once, but I guess this one scene from one Eighth Doctor story must have gotten stuck on repeat by accident at some point, because it was selected as my favourite by that artist. And it's not even a story I liked! Or a scene that is enjoyable to listen to. (It was Invaders of Mars, by Mark Gatiss.)

Anyway, below the cut are images of the playlist's first 30 entries, to give you a view of my eclectic taste as Spotify knows it. I've no idea why there are other Big Finish audio scenes on that list as well, maybe I had to listen to some several times because I didn't get them the first time or didn't remember where I'd left off? Sorry it's only in images, if you use a screenreader, but I couldn't figure out how to copy-paste the list as text and I don't have the time/energy to type up them all.

I kind of don't stick to one genre, at least? Though after the time when I listened to most of these, I've started yearning for more rock music and stuff again.

Also yeah I needed some inspiration & fight songs this year.

Also, these past few months I've mainly used Spotify to listen to French pop musicals that I don't own. I'm poor and stopped keeping Premium, and the free version is amazingly frustrating to listen to. Need to get the CDs for myself. Considering the free version is random play only, it's pretty impressive I've managed to even get some of my favourite songs into the top list.

Gah! There is nothing more frustrating than something getting stuck on your player on repeat and climbing to the top spot where it doesn't deserve to be! It's happened to me twice; Help Me Rhonda by the Beach Boys and The Sound by the 1975 are at the top of my Top 25 Most Played. Great songs both, but it's so frustrating to have them there when the song that should have taken precedence, on account of it being my tune of the year, Crash Into Me by Darren Criss. (I'm also still very bitter at Gatiss over Sherlock as well, so...)
