Fannish character meme
A meme grabbed from
kindkit, because I want to be social about something and this seems like a good way. And also because I haven't done a fandom meme in a while and this looks like fun.
Give me a character and I'll tell you some things:
1. How I feel about this character
2. All the people I ship romantically and/or sexually with this character
3. Favorite gen relationship(s) for this character
4. My unpopular opinion about this character
5. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
6. Random pet theory about this character that you won't convince me is not true.
7. A song or piece of music I associate with this character.
Feel free to pick any fandom that you know I like. If you're not sure if I know/like something, try it and I'll tell you if I don't know the fandom/character enough to have these opinions. Just one caveat: if you pick Doctor Who, I've still got very conflicted feelings about the Chibnall era thanks to the S12 finale, so please be a sweetheart and don't pick the characters from that era. Anything else goes, old and new.
My AO3 account - not only my own works but also my bookmarks etc. - can provide you some ideas as to which fandoms I've been into in the recent years, if you have trouble remembering.

2. Peter Nureyev and all and any of his aliases. Not really anyone else so far, but then again, that's plenty.
3. I really adore Juno's relationship with Rita in particular. I remember that right at first I found Rita grating, which is probably not a surprise, but after a while I started to get what her character was really about, and how Juno couldn't get by without her and how important they are to each other. Also adore their constant complaints about each other and how loyal she is to him even if she whines about every assignment he gives her. Apart from her, I'm really intrigued by Juno's relationships to the newest characters he's met in the parts of the show I've recently listened to - the last story I finished was Juno Steel and the Time Gone By, and I've started on Juno Steel and the Monster's Reflection. Am also really interested in his relationship with his brother, which the show has just started to get into where I'm at currently. Oh, and I absolutely love Alessandra Strong and her snarky yet supportive relationship with Juno, and wish there was more of her.
4. Hmm, I don't know if I have any unpopular opinions - maybe mostly because I avoid reading much fandom discussion because I'm not caught up yet and don't want to get massively spoiled. We'll see if by the time I've caught up, I'll have developed some! I have read fanfics, though, generally through making use of the AO3 function of filtering by the date updated so I don't get anything that's been written later than where I'm at with the show. From them I do get a general sense of fannish feels and opinions, but while there are individual fics whose characterizations I don't agree with, I haven't noticed anything where my opinion would be massively unpopular.
5. I JUST WANT JUNO TO BE HAPPY DAMMIT. (And get together with Peter properly and stay that way.) (Nobody spoil me about episodes that I haven't heard yet.)
6. Hmm, the closest thing I've got to a random pet theory is probably this: Something I've noticed especially in Season Two is that a lot of the people Juno meets seem to know about his nonbinaryness and using the word lady about himself even without him bringing that up. It's possible that this is just general knowledge about him that anyone who'd come across him in a case would know about him due to somehow being in a field, or maybe the people in that world have a way of broadcasting their words and pronouns to everyone without saying it. But it's also likely it's some kind of visual cues, and while in that futuristic SF world gender markers may look like absolutely anything, my 21st century mind really likes to imagine him going around on cases wearing practical shoes, a badass jacket, and very puffy skirts. Maybe not all the cases, but some of them. Depends on what he reckons he has to do. Also, glittery make-up. When he feels like bothering.
7. I swear that the other week I kept thinking about a song that was really, really fitting for the Penumbra Podcast and Juno, but I can't remember at all what that was. I'll let you know if it comes back to me!

2. Jamie McCrimmon, and that's pretty much it. I'm not terribly good at shipping most Doctors, and I OTP'd on these two hard and don't need anything else, so there I am. I even get mildly-to-moderately annoyed when the show tries to low-key ship him with one of the guest ladies.
3. I totally love his relationships with all his companions, each one individually as well as the TARDIS teams of his era. The dynamics are lovely and give me lots of happy feels! I'm trying to think of whether any of the guest character dynamics jump out at me - there's the Brig, of course, I like their interaction. And I feel like his interaction with just about everyone in the War Games is great. And I always love it when he gets to geek out about science with a guest character.
4. Hmm, I can't think of a massively unpopular opinion I have of him... Other than that I think I take him more seriously than many fans do. Of course he's got plenty of silly characteristics, and his running is hilarious, but he's also very badass when he needs to be, is seriously on the side of good, and he's brilliant at having elaborate and intelligent plans while nobody realizes he could be up to anything like that. I feel like a lot of fans - of the show in general, not especially fans of the era - are more familiar with his comical aspects than the serious ones.
5. I basically refuse to believe the ending of the War Games, you know, from Jamie and Zoe's departure onwards, or at least I refuse to believe it sticks. Totally a Season 6B believer here. Otherwise it breaks my heart too badly.
6. I could just point to the previous answer, but I guess it's not a random pet theory, given that it's pretty major. Hmm... I'm sure I'll remember some more detailed ones after I've done this meme. But I definitely love expanding on the Doctor's Coat Pockets Of Unending Items from which he pulls out just about anything, and love imagining the coat as a TARDIS-like bigger-on-the-inside item, or like Hermione's bag from the last Harry Potter book in which she can fit insane amounts of stuff. I've seen some adorable fan arts of this, but of course I can't remember where to find them right now...
7. Well, if I heard Skye Boat Song played with a recorder more often, that would definitely always remind me of him! When sung, it reminds me of enough other things that he doesn't get to own it, though...
