Write Every Day, June Day #13

I slept in something crazy today - I don't have to be anywhere, seeing as I'm not working at the moment, but it did rather throw off my schedules and made me not very productive at all today.

Anyway, I'm just leaving this here quickly in the hope that I have time to watch another episode of Good Omens before I'm too sleepy and have to go to bed.

Today's Writing

I started drawing timelines on paper, to create both the main history timeline and separate timelines for each of my protagonists, but I didn't get terribly far. Still, it'll hopefully be useful while I figure out a more efficient way to do timelines.

I wrote more character notes for supporting characters. More of them are coming alive and giving me ideas, I love it! I also feel I really shouldn't hold back the writing itself for much longer, because there's so much I still find out only when I'm writing the first draft (or the second, third etc.).

I also wrote down ideas for fics for the Cottoncandy Bingo, but I didn't get to actually writing any fic.

You sound prepped and ready to start the first draft--that's awesome! I'm looking forward to hearing more about it (and to catching up on your writing posts).

I wrote 936 words of the H50 fic before spending the majority of the day cleaning and doing chores. The biggest project, and the one I'd been dragging my heels on, was moving books to make room for more books. I had to clear a tall shelf of geek-related stuff (eg. action figures and the like) so that I could move books there. Then, I had to integrate recently read books into my collection. (This is the sci-fi/fantasy section of the library, which is down in our big television room, where we also have our DVD collection.) Anyway, it feels really good to have it all done (and that there are no longer stacks of books upstairs waiting to be shelved downstairs). Yay, me!

I feel you on the procrastination. When it got to the point that the stacked books on the upstairs desk were posing a health hazard to our cats, I figured it was time to actually bite the bullet and shelve them. I hope you find the same motivation, minus the bodily peril for any furkids (or humans) in your life. :-)

Well, I do still have some things to sort out before I feel I can actually start writing without running into problems in the first chapters, but there's not a lot of that kind of stuff anymore, so I definitely look forward to starting. :-)

Sounds like you had an active day! Both lots of writing and lots of chores! I mostly don't manage that much of either in an average day, it seems. ;-)

And yeah, I also sometimes have to move books to make room for other books. I've pulled out lots of books I've decided I can give up... Which means they're sitting in piles on my bedroom floor, while I'm waiting to remember to take them to the library recycling shelf or a charity shop. And then I get used to them and they don't go anywhere. Oops.
