Just a quick post now, as I'm super tired and need to go to bed soon. I had a pretty active day today - first I had some really nice outdoors-ing (thankfully before the hottest part of the day), then I had to do this online exam for a course I've been taking, which was tiring, but I'm glad to have done it now.

[slow writing day for me as well, more pixel doodling and housework, i got 400 words done but it feels a little pointless. not taking that as an entire negative though, it was almost like a little vacation. writing something that doesn't matter to the wip means i'm not worrying about it. tomorrow will probably be better, then ]

Sometimes it's good to have a bit of a vacation from the more productive writing days! I was just listening to a podcast today that talked about the importance of "fallow time" for writers. And for those of us who don't like to be completely without writing, it can just be something different from our usual projects.

Yay for outdoorsy stuff! We, too, had a very outdoorsy day, going to a huge street arts festival first, then to dinner at an outdoor place, and then for a walk by the river. Like you, I'm pretty tired now, but I'm glad we did all that fun stuff. (We also snuck in a trip to our favorite comic book shop, which was delightful!)

Before we got the day going, I wrote 1482 on the H50 fic.

Yay for outdoorsy days and fun stuff! Even if it's tiring, it's worth it to get out for nice things every now and then. :-) And yay for getting that much writing in, as well!

9th: 1,592 words on the bodyswap. Hoping to add another scene later (there are two more to go, I think?), but I need to rest my arms now.

About 650 words - an action scene which I think needs a lot poking at, but at least I got it down!

I always find action scenes super hard, so getting it down is at least half the battle, even if you need to poke at it a lot later. :-)

Hope you slept well! Day 8 I wrote about 300 words on a WIP from a few months ago - it's not dead yet!

I did, thank you! And woo, resurrecting an older WIP! I have a lot of things like that lying around in my files - should give them a few pokes and see which ones I can revive and get written!

I outlined a bit more of a thing? Still can't seem to write it, but the outline has got more detail in a spot that was really vague before.

Outlining is important, too, yay for progress in that! It's satisfying to get things more detailed where they were vague before. :-)

yup! I also got like 500 words on the next scene of another thing before midnight.

Found three oneshots that needed finishing so I did that for 965 words.

I wrote the introduction for my academic paper, about two pages, not exciting but necessary

Sometimes things are necessary even when they aren't exciting, yay for getting that sort of thing done. :-)

100 words brainstorming on a new fic concept

Yay, getting brainstorming done for a new story is good!

I was very busy today, and am up too late (I was sleeping earlier but I'm awake again, erg). But I managed 560 words of brainstorming/free-writing on the bookshop novel.

Ack, hope today has been less busy, and also that you got back to sleep! Well done to manage that much writing anyway - brainstorming and freewriting are really useful on days when you don't necessarily have the concentration to really work on writing a story.

Sorry, I didn't get around to check in yesterday. I've been mainly editing that joint story for the last two days, working over an hour at each each day, and also added a couple of alibi words to it on the 7th, and wrote 551 words for my Crazy Crossover yesterday.

Somewhere in the vicinity of 800 words of fic writing to craft a fill, and then more words as I pared down the water feature of tabs and transformed them into something less intimidating.

I know it's the 10th now, but I'm actually doing really well! Endeavour is my fandom of choice right now, but oddly enough, the last few days I've produced a fair few little Sherlock fics. My relationship with Sherlock has been shaky so I'm really thrilled about that. Only trouble is, when the motor revs up you get loads of fic ideas at once! It's a fantastic feeling and I'd rather have loads of ideas rather than none at all, but writing Endeavour, it's so hard to know what physically to put where; should this scene be part of this fic, should it stand alone, is this fic too much like that one, oh dear Lord another idea for another fic! Can't deny I love the feeling, though. :D

You're welcome! And sorry for the belated reply - I added you on the tally for the 8th, though! Glad you've been able to write new fics. Especially if you've had a complicated relationship with the fandom (I understand!) it's nice if you can find a way to do it that works for you again. :-) Have you been able to continue writing in the recent days?

Haha, yes, I definitely have noticed the same! The more I'm writing, the more ideas I get!
