Write Every Day, Day #9

It's nearly Easter... Do you folks have time off during Easter? Since I currently make my own schedules, I don't have any particular days off, but I really feel I need more than just the regular two-day weekend I give myself, so I'm probably taking a regular Easter break from Friday to Monday, or at least Friday to Sunday. I've been really tense and tired this week, and I'd better take some time to relax and let go. I hope it also leads to more writing, but if it doesn't, I'll try not to stress myself about it.

I managed to do my writing in the morning, and ended up with a few handwritten pages of a thing I wasn't planning for, but which started to grow in my mind from a shorter bit I wrote a couple of days ago. Well, it's words, I'm taking it!

I'm doing my writing right now! (Well, I actually am taking a break to have a drink...)

I don't celebrate Easter, so it's just going to be yet another day in this tiring lockdown, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's not going to be extended once more because right after Easter is the only time of the year I buy chocolate. I don't like it much and only eat very rarely, so stocking up once a year when the Easter leftovers go on sale it's the best and lasts me until the following year!

Wore myself out battling overgrown hedge today, but luckily got most of my writing doe beore going outside.

April 9th - 983 words. Another 500 word challenge ficlet that I'm very happy with, some work on the fic I started yesterday, and a bit of editing on something before posting. Now I'm too sleepy to do anything else.

I added 545 to the Bond/Q fic tonight. I think I might actually be moving toward the climax. Since it's just under 30K words now, I think it's time. Lol!

I got distracted, and rather than working on the fic I'd started I wrote a snippet of something totally unrelated. Looks like we're in the same boat. :)

We get Good Friday and Easter Monday off, too. Which is good because I need more sleep. And also some time to maybe actually catch up on some fannish stuff ...

Apr 9: went for a walk during my morning writing time (so pretty! shining sun! singing birds! blooming flowers! empty sidewalks!), but noodled some when I came back, and again during my lunch hour.

Good Friday is a statutory holiday around here and some places get Easter Monday as well but fewer and fewer. Because of the whole situation though, the premier declared that grocery workers would get both Friday and Sunday off this weekend. For me it means not only tomorrow off but the university does a thing where most offices just keep a skeleton staff from 3pm til close of business the day before a long weekend and we kept that up today even though noone's actually in the office. My supervisor was the one from our team to "stay" - means she gets to leave early some other day of her choice.

Not much and I only started after 11:30 pm but I'm still plodding on stitching scenes together to make an actual sequence. Little over a page longhand. One more scene that needs finishing and then I will switch POVs and start the same day over again. The other POV needs more fixing, but once I get going with hers I tend to write her in longer bursts so I might get a longer daily wordcount going in the next few days. Fingers crossed, anyway.

Today was amazing writing wise (and sucky for everything else), 2478 words between three projects. I got my dick_or_treat story posted. Added to that comment fic from last night and started something new for a request

Day 9 - Three drabbles, one using Instadrabble prompts, and two genprompt bingo prompts.

I get tomorrow off, which I am looking forward to, especially as I had forgotten it was a holiday.

Checking in for 8 and 9. A lot of words have gone through my various keyboards, mostly on other things, but there was a solid chunk that was actually related to my writing projects.

Day 9: More work on the nonfiction project, and another alibi sentence! 8-)

Our bookshop is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we get Easter off by default, though not Good Friday. However, since the shop is closed due to shelter in place, it doesn't matter. We've been working in the (closed) shop and at home (listing books online, going through boxes in the garage, etc.) and our hours are, how do you say, flexible. ;-)

Anyway, your taking a long weekend is an excellent idea.
