Yes, it's exciting - although I do have a tendency to get started on new projects. But then, I also know it doesn't work for me to only work on one project for a long time. Hopefully I eventually finish one of these!
Hee, 30K sounds like a respectable length for a fic, yes. :-D I've no idea why all my fics are pretty short though I only manage to write novel-length original stuff. I really like reading lengthier fics when they're good, though. I'm glad the story's progressing so well for you!
