Thanks for describing your WIP organization in so much detail! As I've fallen in love with Scrivener myself, I should look into that as a way of organizing mine! I hadn't thought of using it like that, but it makes sense. :-) Especially since within the same fandom/character/pairing, I may sometimes write bits and scenes where I'm not sure which story they really belong to, so that would make it easier to switch them between stories, see if two stories could be combined, etc. I'll have to look into this!
Glad you managed to write more than anticipated, that sounds like nice progress with your WIP! And it's especially nice when you manage to add character depth, that's ever so important. :-)
