Yeah, I tend to write without looking back and stopping to edit anything, because if I do my inner critic may lift its head and tell me my text is bad. I've found the surest way to make sure I can keep writing is to avoid looking back. Even if I need to change something in an earlier part of the story, I'll just write the rest of the story as though that thing has been changed already, and then edit the original part that needed changing when I'm in the editing phase. Or I might write the new scene in the notebook and make a note about where it belongs, then continue writing where I left off. Though it would probably be even more practical if I could use a binder where I could change the order of the pages as needed! But it would be a bit too clumsy.
Yeah, handwriting is particularly useful for brainstorming, free association, lists etc.
Yay for having a Nice Bookshop novel! And whee, those sentences do add up!
