Happy New Year, friends and subscribers and anyone else who happens to read this! I'm already in 2020, and I'm sure those of you who aren't here yet will get here just fine. I'm just back from a get-together with friends, and I've had too much sugar! And rather too much tea! And I'm very chipper! And very awake! I haven't had any alcohol despite what it may seem! But I've really had very much sugar!

I should probably get some chamomile tea and read something queer to start the decade right, before I head to bed. I think I'll do just that. Take care, my dears, and may you enjoy your New Year celebrations if you have any and they aren't over yet! *blows kisses*

PS. Does anyone else feel that 2020 sounds like a very science-fiction year, not like it's now but somewhere in the future? Though I guess we'll get used to it.

Absolutely it sounds SFnal. It's got the round numbers thing of 2000 AND the doubling-up AND the handy dandy memetic chantability. "TWEN-TY! TWEN-TY!"

Hop nyer!

Happy New Year! I've had 13 hours (counting sleep time) to get used to it being 2020 but it still seems like a sci-fi year.

One of my first roleplaying games was Cyberpunk: 2020. It was an update from the one set in 2013. So yeah, this feels so unreal.

It does sound very future-y and I can see myself staring at the year a few times in disbelief. People in the past should have set it way, way in the future! ^^;;

I just finished Witchmark by CL Polk which was delightfully charming m/m mystery!

Best of luck! Because, yes, finding the *exact* thing I like can be a mission itself. I'm trying to use tags on Goodreads to assist!

LOL, yes, we are definitely in a weird SF future now, so all I want to know is why don't we have jet packs and how did we wind up in one of those dystopias instead, but I think I know the answers to that.

Happy new year! ♥

Happy New Year to you, too! You seem to have had a really great evening and passing into the new year! :o)
I've read the other day that it's never been (or couldn't be?) proven that sugar intake causes hyperactivity or whatnot, and I wonder if it's got similar roots like some people being fully convinced they'd never sleep _at all_ if they drink coffee after 3 p.m. Like my late paternal grandmother, or my mother-in-law, who now drinks green tea instead, preferably Mate, which affects her (difficult) sleep not at all, though coffee does, even if it's just a regular cup of coffee with milk at 4 p.m. and she goes to bed at 10 p.m. ;op. Of course other factors are involved, but I'm convinced that sometimes people are affected by something because they believe it to be, and not because it really happens.

I totally think 2020 sounds cool!

Happy New Year!

I wrote the date in my journal today, and it was very weird to put down 2020. Definitely still sounds like a science fiction title.
