Just a quick post, about to rush out soon! A somewhat busy day, but nearly everything done that I meant to. I ran out of gift wrapping paper, though. Need to try to remember to buy it when I come back this evening.

Edit edit edit. But I think I might be pretty much done with the Yuletide edits now! There are a couple of bits I'd like to fix yet, but I ran out of time and brains for that. At least I no longer feel like it's a failure, it just would be better if I fixed those bits.

Yay for wrestling down the Yuletide edit, and for getting things done! *\O/*
I'm busybusybusy, too, cleaning and preparing food, but I found a bit time to write. About 200 words only, I'm stuck with the draft, not knowing which POV to chose and what to put where, and with the next busy days I imagine I won't be doing much writing until Christmas is over. But the challenge will help me again keeping at it even when there seems no time at all.
(It doesn't help _at all_ that I spontaneously decided to take up learning Swedish again, and signed up for a few months of babbel.com to do so. This way of learning is new to me, but so much more practical than getting out my old CDs and books as I have it on the PC as well as on my phone, and I might make it beyond the first few lessons this time.... ;) But now I'm not only doing about half an hour to an hour choir rehearsal daily, but also about half an hour Swedish... I took a class at community college 20 years ago but couldn't continue due to travelling, and have tried to teach myself afterwards a few times, but never made it far.)

Thank you! It is relieving! And glad you found time to write a bit despite being busy. I understand Christmas things can make it quite busy for many people. I'm remarkably lazy about them myself, but getting enough time when I'm able to concentrate alone can be a bit hard when visiting family.

If you need anyone to practice Swedish with, you can try me. I theoretically speak it quite well. ;-) Though I mix it up with German from time to time, since the languages are relatively similar and I've used German more in the recent years; but you'll at least be able to tell which one it is. *g*

(Another very belated reply...) Thank you so much for the offer, I'd happy to take you up on it a bit later on! <3 I'm already listening regularly to a daily radio broadcast online in simple Swedish, which was recommended to get subconscious listening comprehension, which is also nice to stay motivated.

We share the Christmas preparations for the actual family celebration as much as possible. My mother tends to overwork herself with preparations, although having the whole family together is important to us all (I've got two sisters, both also married with two kids each); and after a breakdown a few years ago caused by her caring for her demented mother living in a flat in my parent's house, we now share the work as much as possible - or rather are allowed to take over part of it. ;o) And there's also the need to do the pre-holiday deep cleaning (which I never manage earlier in the month *coughs*), preparing Christmas eve dinner as well as a dinner for the other Christmas day, as we spend one day with family and the other have friends visiting.

I didn't manage to check in last night due to LJ being down, but I finished the beta I was working on. As for tonight, I finished the draft of my Christmas fic! \o/

I finished editing a chapter of my WIP and posted it, yay! And then I managed around 1.5k to finish the first draft of the first Yuletide treat. Now lets see whether I'll have enough time for editing this + writing another before reveals... :D
