Write Every Day - April Day #11
Despite having a great time last night, I unfortunately had quite a crash this afternoon, depression and anxiety things hitting me in a pretty bad way. I eventually got over it and am more or less okay now, just tired. But it meant I spent most of the evening in bed. Could use not having these kind of days, but well, nothing for it but dealing with them when they come.
On a plus note, I enjoyed some of the reading while in bed trying to rest and stuff. And I think that once I was well enough to consider writing, the writing made my mood better.
Today's Writing
I wrote a little over 300 words on my novel. I also finally got started organizing my fanfics! I took an idea from
ysilme and created a Scrivener project where to put all the WIPs in one fandom in separate files, organized under folders by relationships or character, and marking whether they're an unfinished first draft, a draft being edited, or some random bits I'm not sure where they're going. Tonight I did this for Doctor Who. It was fun, and I really do have a lot of interesting stories I could continue working on. It seems I have 15 stories, altogether over 19,000 words. And that's just Doctor Who. Next I'll do Torchwood, and then assorted other fandoms. But that will have to wait until another day, because I'm tired.

I wrote 598 words today on a short story. I run a twice monthly student writers' club, and we usually do a writing exercise. These words came from that prompt. I think I'll finish it in the next day or two and am planning for it to be right around 1000 words. One of the things I love about such exercises is that they force me to be economical with the words, with the result that the stories are compact and more vivid, I think. Anyway, it's nice to have a break from "The Donner Party" which is at exactly 67,000 words right now.

That's a nice way to get something different written! And I should try challenges that force you to be more economical with the words, because I think my writing would really benefit from it.
no subject
I only wrote three book reviews but it was 800 words.
no subject
That's a nice bit of writing, anyway! And book reviews can be good for your writing, too. :-)

And the people who give mt the books appreciate me getting off my butt and getting review done.

What was going to be my alibi sentence today turned into a couple of paragraphs, about 160 words, and that made me feel better!
Mom is still improving, knock on wood.
no subject
I love it when alibi sentences do that! That's one of the neat uses they have. :-)
Glad your mother has been improving, hope that continues!

Sometimes writing won't be forced. Glad you got something written, anyway! Hopefully the things with deadlines will start coming along.

I worked a bit at my WIP yesterday, but was too distracted by other things to concentrate on finishing it. Instead, I wrote a bit over 1k for the new drawer novel - it's so relaxing to not care about anything and just write on. *g*
no subject
Yay for a lot of words on the drawer novel! Writing on without a care is relaxing indeed. :-)
