ysilme: Close up of the bow of a historic transport boat with part of the sail. (Wordle write every day)

I think Finnish folk wisdom meant something else than we do when it said summer, though.
*snort* I'd happily give you some of our premature summer. I left off socks two days ago, switched to summer nightwear as it's already too hot in the bedroom, and we walked around outside at 23.30 last night at still 18°C. During the day, we had 25°C, which made me feel wretched so I skipped gardening and spent most of the day at the desk instead. At least that meant nearly 1,5k of new words, though; for that new drawer novel that demands to be written since a couple of days. I forgot if I mentioned it already. I also wrote about 500 words for that on the 7th, although I forgot to check in, but you've put me in already for it, thanks! ;o)
Only a bit of editing and shifting around today so far, but I'm only just sitting down to write.

We rarely have a proper spring any more since quite some years, and it's not unusual for temperatures suddenly rising from still-winter to nearly-summer within a week. We've had years where the highest temperatures already happened mid-May. I hate it, for while I manage to adapt eventually to hotter temperatures (though not necessarily well), the first one or two weeks is always rather uncomfortable when it's getting over 20°C outside. Still, if it kept at that for all of summer I'd count myself lucky, for summers became so much hotter in the last years as well. Last summer was pure bliss - we managed to escape the worst of the heat while traveling through Lapland and Finmark. *g*

Yay for finches, spring, and words of any number! :-)

I wrote 597 on "The Donner Party" today, and I'm surprised I managed that many. This gainful employment thing is for the birds--lol!

I don't know what's wrong with me. I have ideas but I just can't seem to motivate. Another rounds of edits has rolled in. Maybe that'll get me going. Only a couple alibi sentences today.

No finches, but I saw a lizard sunning itself on the flagstones in the front yard. 8-)

Also, it got warm, then it rained, now it's warm again, and weeds sprang up everywhere. Okay, also crocuses. But weeeeeds.

I wrote about 350 words on the novel.

How lovely -- the advent of Spring, and some new words on the novel!

On the work front, my trial proceeds apace, and so does my confounded editing. Still, there's been some success -- one fic posted, the other one still WIP.

I listed out the four main things I want Stagecraft to accomplish, thematically. Which, well. One is more setting and one is more character, so those are easy...and the other two are still gonna be damn tricky to pull off without having one serving the other. :(
