auroracloud: a fountain pen against a sheet of paper and writing (writing)

It's been raining a lot tonight, and the temperature has been a few degrees above zero today, so snow is melting fast. Maybe we'll get spring! Though I very much liked being able to ski on Easter, so I don't mind that March was much colder than usual.

Today's Writing

I got tired of just writing notes and wanted to work on some text again, so I turned back to one of my unfinished fanfics, and indulged myself by working on a sex scene for a little over 200 words. I'd have continued, but I'm getting too tired to write.

I also thought about possibly organising my fanfic WIPs into proper folders and seeing how many I've got and which ones I could possibly finish. Thinking about it kind of counts, right?

Yet more drawerfic for me!

Personally I'm incredibly tired of winter, so I'm very happy we're finally having spring weather here.

Thinking about it TOTALLY counts! :-) And yay for sex scenes! They are always a nice, reliable source of words, I find.

I wrote 1144 on "The Donner Party" today, still working on that unfinished episode and feeling my way toward integrating it into the rest of the story.

I did take a break from the novel (though I still thought about it all day, and added a drabble to my file of (working title) Drabbles About A Small Weird Town. Not much, but life is complicated at the moment...

Yay for working on fanfic WIPs!

Best wishes of spring coming soon! And lots of sympathies about organising your WIPs. I think it helps having them in a place you can easily see them together or so. I'm having three scrivener projects for my fannish projects, which means anything that stays below 20.000 words or so. One is for research and general idea collections, where I also store anything else I might want to use in writing, store general header info I'll use again, sign-up stuff and such - anything I don't want to bother to look up on my journal or so. One is for the finished works, as I want to have them together, organised by challenge type (yay for the many possible subfolders in scrivener! *g* ), and one is for the WIPs. Also organised by challenge type, and I love that I can expand only the ones I currently want to work at or see, and collapse those I don't want to be reminded of. *g* I'm also using the coloured flags and other icons of scriveners a lot to indicate what state what part is in, and to direct my mind to something I might otherwise like to oversee. ;o) When I open that file to work at it really helps to see everything being nice and in order, and having that orange or red flag blinking anywhere often draws me to check, and then I'm often enough also starting to work at it, while the green flag tells me that there are already finished parts or chapters which is encouraging.
The downside is that when I've finished something, I need to manually copy&paste each document into the "Finished" scrivener projet. But at least this also enhances the satisfaction of having finished some work and being able to file it away. ^^
Yesterday, I actually managed to write more than anticipated, got back into my WIP, edited some and added about 500 new words. I'm also an yet another new small track with it, but a welcome one, adding bits of depth to my character that were missing before.

I am just welcoming winter here, and because it was a crappy summer, I'm glad to be getting out warmer coats and rugging up a bit.

I wrote a post today, it was 2100 words all up. Took me all day, on and off, but that's okay.
