auroracloud: a fountain pen against a sheet of paper and writing (writing)
[personal profile] auroracloud
Hello, dear Chocolatier! (is that the generally accepted term? Hope so!)

I’ll be really happy for fic about any of these fandoms and relationships. And if someone happens to browse this who also does art, I’d also be happy with fan art, I just haven’t got enough ideas about art to prompt what I like in it, so I decided to request just fic.

I try to provide lots of prompts and general likes and such in the hope that it helps you on with your writing, but you don’t need to feel any pressure to incorporate specific likes or use specific prompts. I’m always happy with either gen or shippy fic, and even when I ship two character I tend to madly adore gen with the same characters, too. You can always modify or combine prompts, too, or take a shippy-sounding prompt and turn it gen or vice versa.

As long as you avoid my DNWs, feel free to create anything you like with these fandoms and characters, and I hope you will have fun writing!

General likes:

- Historical stuff
- Space stuff, science stuff
- Adventures
- Romance
- Daily slices of life, domestic
- Emotions and relationship stuff, including friendship and family
- Women being awesome, women supporting each other
- Books, music, geekiness
- Humour
- Mild to moderate angst with a happy/comforting/hopeful ending
- Hurt/comfort (leaning rather towards the comfort than the hurt)
- Fluff
- Friendship and found/chosen family; intense feelings about friends
- Touching, hugging, clinging, physical comfort, whether platonic or not
- Friends to lovers scenarios
- Epistolary fic
- Banter
- Canon divergence AUs (what if…)
- Missing scenes
- Past fic, pre-canon
- Future fic
- Tea, chocolate, cakes, food and (mostly non-alcoholic) beverages in general
- In shippy stories, I’m happy with anything from the most general-audiences handholding and loving looks to full-out porn, and anything in between. But even in stories with lots of sex, I prefer the focus to be on the feelings and interactions between the characters, their development, etc.

General dislikes and Do Not Wants

- Gore, descriptive violence, permanent character death, torture.
- Horror (beyond mild gothic horror)
- Domestic abuse or abusive relationships, especially between the requested characters or any canon pairing they are/have been in.
- Non-con, underage sex (under 16), characters being uncomfortable with the sex they’re having
- Character bashing
- A/B/O scenarios
- Wildly different AUs of the coffee shop / high school / college / werewolf / vampire / pirates / etc. variety. Canon divergence is fine.
- Porn focusing heavily on a specific kink. Don’t want to see the following kinks at all: watersports, scat, mpreg, bloodplay, breathplay, ageplay, animal play, mommy/daddy kink.
- A lot of focus on alcohol and getting drunk, or such.

Fandoms and relationships

In the fandoms with multiple relationships requested, the order of the relationship tags is the order I got them in the sign-up form, so it doesn't indicate preference. And if I have more prompts for some fandom or relationship than another, that doesn't indicate preference either, I've only requested stuff I'm really keen to see! (In particular, I realize looking at this that I've got ridiculously many more prompts for Classic Who than New Who, but that's probably because I'm newer into the Classic Who fandom, so my thoughts haven't coalesced as much yet and they're all over the place. Or it may be a feature of how awake I was when I wrote each portion.)

Doctor Who (1963)

Relationships:
Second Doctor/Jamie McCrimmon (Doctor Who (1963))
Second Doctor & Jamie McCrimmon & Victoria Waterfield (Doctor Who (1963))
Second Doctor & Jamie McCrimmon (Doctor Who (1963))
Second Doctor & Ben Jackson & Jamie McCrimmon & Polly Wright (Doctor Who (1963))
First Doctor & Vicki Pallister (Doctor Who (1963))
Zoe Heriot/Isobel Watkins (Doctor Who (1963))
Second Doctor & Zoe Heriot & Jamie McCrimmon (Doctor Who (1963))

First Doctor & Vicki:
- One of the things I love the most about Vicki is how excited she’s to be travelling in the TARDIS and seeing all these times and places, and how she’s always up for exploring, doing something fun, trying things out. Life with the Doctor suited her so well! So I’d love anything in that vein: give her some awesome places to see, history to witness, fun things to do! And the Doctor enjoying getting to give her that.
- I also love Vicki’s tendency to get into all sorts of scrapes. Oops, might have accidentally poisoned Nero! And the Doctor having to sort things out. On the other hand, Vicki also isn’t afraid to call the Doctor out on his little mishaps (like, oops, Rome and Nero and fire). So I’d love anything where the two of them go about getting into trouble and trying to get out of it, and trying to keep time and space intact.
- Feel free to include any other companions who were aboard the TARDIS at the same time. I’ve mainly seen Ian and Barbara, and am very very fond of them. But I’ve seen some of Steven and enjoy his dynamic with Vicki as well, so either TARDIS team is go!

Second Doctor era:
- Zoe being scientific and awesome
- Jamie saving the day
- Victoria saving the day
- In Two’s era, we had lots of companions from different time periods and cultures, and I’d love any exploration of that. Culture clashes, trying out each other’s foods or clothes or anything, introducing Jamie and/or Victoria to modern technology or how culture and mores have changed since their time, Zoe coping with what she sees as backward times or trying to explain things about her time to people from the past, or how the Doctor explained to Jamie that the Moon is a place you can visit.
- Visiting eras where the historical companions are in their home turf and know their way around.
- Anything where the Doctor appreciates his companions and relies on them, where they work in a team. The Doctor needing his companions, either emotionally or practically or both and more.
Found family vibes, companionship and friendship among the characters.
- Zoe and the TARDIS library
- Exploring how the companions reacted to some of the pretty unsettling or traumatic stuff they experienced during the story. 60s TV writing may not have been much about character arcs, but doesn’t mean it didn’t happen between the scenes!
- How did Victoria’s concept of what women could do get influenced by seeing different times, and meeting women like Astrid Ferrier and Anne Travers? How did she come around to wearing miniskirts after being used to crinolines?
- AU where Isobel comes along as a companion. How does she fit into the team? How much do she and Zoe heckle Jamie? What happens when she travels to the 21st century and discovers digital cameras?
- Isobel and Zoe during the Invasion: Zoe trying to get to know Isobel’s time period, any fun friendship moments or little adventures or reacting to the canon adventure. Things getting heated during the photography. Or cute romancing and Zoe being unsure what the customs are in this age and Jamie and the Doctor being no help whatsoever. Isobel managing to time-travel later and find Zoe, or Zoe meeting her again in later travels.
- For any companions who qualify: new companion settling into the life aboard the TARDIS and finding their place in the team and companionship with the others.
- I’m super fond of the connection the Doctor and Jamie have, either in a gen sense of being very tactile friends, or in a shippy sense. I do ship them passionately, but I friend-ship them equally much, so either gen or slash makes me happy. They bounce off each other so delightfully regardless, and their friendship and companionship is a thing of beauty. So is their constant banter and heckling of each other which is clearly one more way to show their affection. Canon level clinging appreciated. Or more than canon level, especially if you go the shippy route!
- Sorry, I lack specifically shippy prompts, but I love a wide variety of things: getting together, being together, random cute moments, having relationship problems that get solved, misunderstandings, mutual pining (preferably getting solved), kissing, cuddling, sex, how to act around other people, learning to navigate their differences, reunions, emotional support…
- I’m also all for fixing what happens to Jamie and Zoe at the end of War Games, whether via Season 6B or something else. And Season 6B stuff is appreciated in general.
- The Doctor catching up with companions who have left the TARDIS, for example meeting up with Ben and Polly later and having a chat.

- Feel free to combine relationships and write about more than one of the relationships requested, perhaps bringing into contact characters who didn’t travel together in canon. What if Victoria and Zoe had both been in the TARDIS at the same time? What would happen if Jamie and Vicki met — would time and space stay intact and how would the Doctor(s) ever sort out all the scrapes those two would get into?

Doctor Who (2005)
Relationships:
Martha Jones/Bill Potts (Doctor Who (2005))
Martha Jones & Rose Tyler (Doctor Who (2005))
Heather (Doctor Who: The Pilot)/Bill Potts (Doctor Who (2005))
Twelfth Doctor & Bill Potts (Doctor Who (2005))
Martha Jones/Rose Tyler (Doctor Who (2005))

-Martha and Rose NOT being jealous over the Doctor but instead discovering they make a darn good team. Maybe Rose stayed in the regular universe or she returned there later. Maybe we get alternate Martha in Pete’s world. Maybe they become an awesome adventuring duo or just friends who swap time-travel stories and have fun. Maybe they fall in love with each other and have hot snogging and snuggling.
- Giving Bill and Heather some actual time to get to know each other before they sail off to the stars, e.g. by extending their relationship during Pilot or going AU and having Heather be around more during S10.
-Show some of Bill and Heather's life after the canon ending. Or fix the canon ending and give them an alternate way to get together.
- How would Bill and Martha meet? During their respective adventures with their respective Doctors, with timelines intersecting and possibly causing havoc? In their proper timelines, with Martha older than she is in canon? Maybe Twelve needs her assistance in something or just goes to visit an old friend with Bill in tow. Maybe post-canon Martha will help Bill at getting over some of the bad stuff she’s experienced. Maybe they adventure together in places where pale-skinned people would be looked at weirdly but they fit right in. Maybe they swap stories about the weirdness of time travel and the Doctor. Maybe they have a sweeping romance and/or hot snuggles. You decide!
- I love Bill’s wide-eyed enthusiasm at travelling and the universe, and it seemed to do Twelve a world of good, so I’d love to see more of that. Also, let them have fun! Bill should have been getting more fun and amazing things.
- Anything with Bill & Twelve’s lessons together, the things he teaches her.
- Bill getting to meet awesome women and/or people of colour on her travels.
- Fixing Bill’s ending somehow so she doesn’t become cyberized.
- Just Twelve & Bill friendship in general, how they’re both good for one another.
- Feel free to include Nardole if you want to. Though the Doctor & Bill slipping away in the TARDIS without Nardole finding out is also fun.
- As with the Classic Who prompts, feel free to combine the relationships and have more of these characters interact, including characters who didn’t meet in canon. Also, feel free to mix and combine with the Classic Who relationships if you so desire!

Emma - Jane Austen
Relationship:
Jane Fairfax/Emma Woodhouse (Austen - Emma)

I always loved Jane Fairfax and wished we could have got to know her better, and Emma's intense rivalry of her that eventually changes into appreciation is one of my favourite relationships in the book. I'd love exploring their relationship either after the canon ending, when they are becoming friends, or at some unexplored canon point or even before canon. I'd love femslash with them, since I think they'd be great for each other, and Emma's intense rivalry of Jane could very well conceal feelings she doesn't want to admit to herself. Emma is, after all, excellent at not knowing her own heart. Feel free to either include the canon ending or diverge from canon before it happens, or not mention either way; but I don’t want to read painful break-up angst or painful cheating angst, so whatever works the best for you to avoid those! Though only the femslash relationship was available in the tagset, I’m also happy with gen and a friendship story if your muse would rather go there.

Specific prompts, if you want to use any:
- Emma tries to be better and more studious from now on, but it isn’t always easy. Perhaps Jane can help her.
- If Jane indeed ends up married to Frank Churchill, I doubt he’s really going to be as good a husband as she deserves. Perhaps Emma can offer her some support.
- Jane and Emma catching up on the years of friendship they’ve missed.
- Jane’s point of view on Emma or some of the events in canon.
- A canon divergence AU where Emma tries to matchmake for Jane and discovers she herself has feelings for her.
- Any other canon divergence AU that leads to them getting together instead!
- Moments together in their relationship, perhaps involving books, Jane's music, how Jane fits into the life at Hartfield, etc.
- It's also fine if they just start to discover feelings for one another, you don't have to go all the way to actually having a relationship.
- Something involving correspondence! I have such a weakness for letters.
- Emma is nothing if not determined and strong of will. I could imagine her using this to defend Jane if any problem arises for her, or to convince Jane to stand up for herself in some way, and this could be fascinating to see.

Mansfield Park - Jane Austen
Relationship:
Mary Crawford/Fanny Price (Austen - Mansfield Park)

I'd love anything where these two have to come closer and understand each other better, and especially Fanny has to overcome her strong dismissal of Mary that we see in canon. I have a craving for femslash between these two, because there's such weird and fascinating intensity between them and Mary seems to genuinely like Fanny ,and Fanny can't quite stop thinking about her either. But if it turns out femslash doesn’t work for you after all, I would also be happy with a story where they become friends or at least appreciate each other and cooperate on something. It could take place within canon, after the canon, or diverge from canon at some point.

Specific prompts, if you want to use any:

- Something involving Mary’s harp playing. I have a fascination with music, and considering how delicate and ethereal the harp sounds, I like to think her skill with the instrument could point to a side of her that the canon doesn’t show. Fanny being such an introspective, sensitive character, it could become a fascinating point of contact for them, even if in the society of the time an accomplished young lady like Mary also just ”had” to have an instrument or other artistic skill.
- Something involving that fateful play, or some other form of theatre. The scene where Mary asked Fanny to rehearse with her was fascinating, and as I personally love theatre, I would love it to end up having a different role in their relationship than it did in the book.
- Any time after the canon ending, Mary reaches out to Fanny in some way, or they’re brought together by coincidence. They’re both changed by the events of the book, and their situations are different. How does their relationship develop?
- How would Fanny develop warmer feelings towards Mary after the canon ending?
- A canon divergence where neither Fanny nor Mary gets married, but instead they get to know each other better, maybe become spinsters together, and maybe eventually lovers. Or a canon divergence where marriages work out differently than they do in the book - say, Fanny does marry Henry, and/or Mary marries Edmund, but probably it won't be happy in the long term...
- Mary’s point of view to some events in the book that brings out a different perspective of her than the narration of the book gives.
- Fanny becomes disillusioned with her marriage for any reason, and meets Mary, and finds herself reacting to her differently than before.

Le Comte de Monte-Cristo | Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
Relationship:
Eugénie Danglars/Louise d'Armilly (Dumas - Count of Monte Cristo)

These two are such an obviously a lesbian couple in a 19th century novel and I love that and love them. I'll be happy with anything more of their relationship. Here are some suggestions:

- What happens to them after the events described in the book. How will their life (and their artistic careers) turn out?
- some of their courtship either before or during the times we see them in the book. How they become interested in each other, become aware of their feelings, and how their relationship progresses behind the scenes. Eugénie being quite the intellectual lady and writing poetry, it could also be fascinating to see the written word play a role — Eugénie’s poetry, letters, anything you like.
- It could be intriguing to see how they became so friendly and close originally, and how the whole thing went down with Eugénie’s family. After all, it says that Eugénie can’t be seen with Louise publicly because she is destined for stage, but at the same time, it seems quite fine that they spend extensive amounts of time together.
- Anything involving music, their musical careers, rehearsing, Louise teaching Eugénie, four-handed piano playing, etc. Seeing how they get started in their life in Rome would be interesting. Are they going to be off to a successful start and or find a lot of obstacles on the way? How is Eugénie, accustomed to wealth and luxury, going to adapt to her new circumstances as an aspiring artist? Do they get to perform together in something?
