Write Every Day, June Day #16

I've been mostly sociable and a bit outdoors today. I also got to pet a cat. I've been a bit tired tonight as a result of socializing, but not as badly as some previous days.

Also, I bought the summer's first cherries this weekend, and I just had the last one from the box, and it was yummy.

Today's Writing

Before I went out, I wrote some 500 words on fics, finishing one of the short fics I started for Cottoncandy Bingo. It still needs a good editing round, but at least I've got something to edit. I did a bit more tonight, and the other story is also almost finished, but it still needs something, I'm just not sure what... I also looked for possible prompts for the wild card slot and added them to the document where I keep my ideas, but I didn't choose which one to pick yet. And then I started another fic for the same bingo card, bringing my word count for the day to 778 words. I've wanted to write this pairing for a while - let's see if I manage to finish this story!

I just had a brilliantly scary idea that I do not want to write, it's bloody and angsty and will require a Major Character Death warning that hits in the first few paragraphs, and I scribbled it down in broad strokes in a Tumblr post and that's about 400 words right there

[all the writing got done on the phone today, i dropped the chapter i was working on to look at the Chapter That Still Won't End and added 1k to that. because that's what it needed. more content. *happy despair* ]

That's a lot of writing! I'd probably never have the patience to write that much on my phone... And heh, some stories/chapters just don't want to end! My writing always gets longer than I mean it to be.

I wrote 1364 on the H50 fic, bringing it up to just under 30.5K.

I guesstimate another 10K should do it, but I've been wrong before. ;-)

Thank you! I've got a couple of drafts with them lying around, but never managed to finish a story so far... This one isn't meant to be very long, so it might stand a better chance!

Wow, that's a nice long fic, definitely! I actually wish I got around to writing novella/novel length fic, I love reading them, but my fanfics tend to be one-shots so far.

Got around 2000 words again but I don't think they need to be in the final edit... maybe just my head canon, maybe.

Sometimes that sort of writing is still needed, even if just for yourself. I at least sometimes find it useful to write things out just so I know them or understand a character better etc., even if I cut them out later.
