Today's Writing

Today was rather exciting writing-wise - while I didn't write any new manuscript words, I did a lot of worldbuilding and plotting for the Ambush Project in its notebook, and more in my head. I think I may have figured out The Thing. You know, The Thing that the plot is about, which I've been writing around for months now. This is very exciting. I hope it still feels like a good idea in the coming days. The idea just came to me in the aftermath of some podcast-listening, while I was crocheting away and letting my mind wander, and then I started getting a ton of stuff about both the world and the plot and how the characters' story will progress from the parts that I had figured out earlier, and all that sort of stuff. I wrote down a bunch of things, and then I went for a walk and brainstormed a lot more.

I also got a bunch of worldbuilding ideas for Ambush Project #2, and some related plot and character ideas. I didn't end up writing down anything for it yet, though I meant to, but I did think about it a fair bit. I hope tomorrow I get myself to write some things down, because writing down ideas usually helps me generate more and get deeper into them.

I did try to start a fic for the Trope Bingo, but I only got as far as writing the fandom and the trope in the title of the document, so that doesn't really count as writing it. But I thought about it!

I read a book last year about how important sleep is for your health, and it actually did improve my self-discipline about going to bed!

I have Written Words Today, and considering that today was a day that started with it snowing and continued through doing ttrpg (which was delightful! just takes time and energy), that is enough.

Yes, that sounds like plenty for such a day. (We also had snow recently! And this weekend we have spring. Aprils are very unpredictable in Finland.) Yay for Writing Words and showing up!

It sounds like an amazing break-through day for you! YAY! That is SO EXCITING! *hugs* I'm really thrilled for you! :-)

I did some cleaning up and adding to the story my student club is working on (they have good ideas but tend to forget, for example, to explain who a character is when he/she/they are introduced, and I'm left with having to do some "bridge work," so to speak).

I also added 632 to Bond/Q and those words are exciting because they lead into the action climax of the story! Yay!

It was kind of a hard day, but there was progress!

Managing any writing on a hard day is excellently done! It's managing to show up and write words on such a day that's important, and progress is progress!

19th: My brain is mush, but after much faffing around, I wrote a couple of hundred words on my WIP. :-)

Yay for managing to work on WIP even when brain was mush! Hope your brain has revitalized and is no longer mush. Mush brains are difficult to work with.

Yay for finding out The Thing! And worldbuilding is so much fun.

Got about 200 new words down, not counting the ones I added and backspaced away. The argument is proceeding and I think I'm keeping it sufficiently understated for now. (It's far too early for the antagonist to be showing his colours as a single-minded fanatic, but he's also processing new information and in *his* mind, he's discovered the protagonist is a threat to him but I need that to not be screamingly obvious yet and it's haard.)

April 18: Wrote a new ending for the story, wrote some new middle bits, and sent it to other-beta. Other-beta says it IS a complete story and gave it a thumbs-up (and also a bunch of minor notes). Hooray!
