Write Every Day, August Day #18

Here's the belated check-in post for August 18. I was away overnight visiting friends, and didn't have my laptop with me. I'll reply to comments later, but just wanted to get this one up as soon as I was home. The post for today (the 19th) will go up tonight.

Also, as you may have heard in the news about Bad Things Happening in Finland, just letting you all know that I'm safe and fine, and so is everybody close to me.

Writing

There was little writing time, but I did manage a teeny little bit of editing on the Rare Pair Fest fic, and then I prepared for the Missy remix fest by reading stories and trying to pick one to remix. I may have made my choice, and have some ideas for it...

I'm glad to hear that you and yours are safe, but I'm sorry for the terrible incident that happened. I heard interviews with witnesses on our National Public Radio station over here; the fear was palpable.

Yesterday, I wrote a blog post, which I chose to do as a deliberate act of writing and also as catharsis. Today, I hope to maybe get back to Steve/Tony, but we'll see. :-)

I hope today is a good one for you!

It's scary that something like that has happened, and it's such a completely everyday place. It's been really disturbing to follow up on the news, and I hope this won't lead to any extreme reactions. But at least I take comfort in that I and my loved ones haven't been directly affected.

Writing for catharsis is good! Sometimes you need exactly that. Hope you get better days soon! *hugs*

Got back to the grindstone properly with rare pairs due date looming, ha. *facepalm* Just another few hundred words but enough to get one of my fics up to hit-by-a-bus standard and then some so that's something.

I'm still trying to get my rare pairs fic into shape here. At least with a few more fixes I'll be able to post the darn thing and then continue editing, if I can just get my brain to work. Maybe more tea... Glad you were able to get yours up to that standard, at least!

I have a second, a pinch hit, in the same boat - so solidarity/tea/pom poms for both of us I think!
