Write Every Day - August Day #15

Despite how tired I was, I didn't manage to get a lot of sleep last night, so now I'm all the more exhausted. Trying to get this post out of the way early so that I can calm down to bed early tonight. Thinking of curling up with a book soon.

I've fiddled a little with my Rare Pair Fest fic, editing a few paragraphs, but I don't feel my brain is up to quality editing, so I won't even try more. I did start a little bit of planning for the Missy This Fic remix, in the sense of starting to look for a fic I might remix. Hey, for once reading someone else's fanfic is going to count as working on my own! Normally that's procrastination.

I saw a play this evening and was hoping to get some writing done before, but only managed about 1k of origfic. Still, could be worse!

It could definitely be worse. :-D That sounds like a great word count on a day when you also have theatre!

You ever have one of those days when you have so much planned and then repeated interruptions happen, ruining any momentum you attempt to build?

Yep, that's me today. :-( I did at last get some assignment creating done, and as one of the assignments includes procedures, an organizational chart, a schematic, and a rubric, I feel I've done a LOT of creating today, even if it's not creative, per se. So I'm counting that.

Also, thank you so much for the anniversary wishes. I'm hoping T. actually gets home while it's still our anniversary, but with the renovations and the packing and all sorts of the aforementioned unexpected blips, I'm lucky we saw each other at all--lol!

ETA: I hope you get some sleep! I had a bad night just the other night, so I can definitely relate. *hugs*

I hope you got better sleep tonight! I can fully sympathize; I felt the same yesterday. People keep asking us if we didn't have problems sleeping with the midnight sun. We didn't, but we do now, when it got so hot in the night again. *sigh* What you said yesterday: indeed! I confess I'm always looking for the cooler temperatures when we can manage a summer trip to the North, as the uninterrupted heat we now seem to have each year really wears me out. The first day is bearable, but from the second day onwards I'm incapable of doing much beyond getting everybody fed and waiting for the precious one or two hours in the night when it cools down (if it does). Living in a Swedish wooden house is proving to be somewhat disadvantageous by now: it's terrific for saving energy for heating, and I really adore the indoor climate (can you say that?). But the insulation against heat is not as good, and the super-insulated triple-paned windows are great in winter, but also not that great in summer as they're designed to draw the heat inside. And as the'yre Swedish windows, thus opening to the outside, we can't use the usual roller blinds as a heat protection. There are other methods, not as effective but doable, but since they're not designed for this type of windows, getting anything we could use is super-expensive, and hasn't been affordable to us so far. I love those windows, but I wish we'd been told that we wouldn't get anything regular for them in Germany.
Ahem, sorry for that. I'm just somewhat grumpy after another restless night, looking forward to a hot day. At least my tomatoes will like it. ^^

Despite being born in the north, I've succumbed to my sensitivity to the light and just wear a sleeping mask for summer nights. But glad you weren't bothered by the midnight sun! It can sometimes keep the unaccustomed awake all night, so I've heard. But heat is awful for sleeping in. I'm lucky that my flat stays cool fairly long. But yeah, the triple-paned windows can really keep the heat in at times you don't want them to, too! They are, however, awfully good things to have in the winter. (People always wonder how Finns survive the temperatures we do. That's because our houses are insulated and it doesn't actually get that cold indoors.)

I hope you get some more sleep soon! No wonder you can't write much in those conditions. *sends gentle hugs as not to warm you too much*

Ha, yeah, that is a fun aspect of remixes. XD

I went to bed really early yesterday. I'm still keeping the cold at bay and this time at least it seems it's not getting worse.

Did some more editing and sent in my final Anthology project at around 15k words - which I think is withing the wordcount range I promised. XP (10k-15k, I think, haha.) The art is the most amazing thing ever. *_* Seriously, I love it so much and the artist really outdid herself. I'm also happy with the story. Happier than with the other one, that I had to force out in parts. :P

Now, I went back to reread my rarepairs assignemnt, and... I'm not sure anymore my fic idea really fits this well. I have some rethinking to do.
