I was so tired tonight, I only managed to edit about 1/4 of my Rare Pair Fest fic. I'd hoped to hand it over to beta tonight, but I hope my beta will have time later on. Maybe I'll have to edit between the deadline and story reveals once again, but it's not the first time I've done that... On the upside, I'm finding most of the text so far better than in many of my other fics, but there are gaps I'll need to fill before it makes sense for anyone else to look at it. I'm getting unable to form sentences. Methinks it's time for bed.

I edited my project description and started writing the cover letter. I swear, these things take ages...

Unfortunately I didn't, but hopefully tonight will go better.

I sympathize! I would take forever doing those things. I nearly did take forever just to write my Master's thesis back when I graduated. :-P

I totally get the being tired thing, it's been the same for me yesterday and today. Probably the weather turning warm again for me; I'd become so used to cool temperatures during the three weeks up north, and our first week back was horribly cold also here, so it's quite exhausting right now for me.
I also signed up today for the Silmarillion 40 fest, my deadline is September 8th, and what I'm likely going to write is going to be rather experimental and interesting - or driving me crazy. ;o) The fest is to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the publishing of the Silmarillion, and the prompts cover the whole book. I chose the first, the Creation of Arda because it's one of the parts I love best about it. Not the easiest to write about, though! *g* But I might surprise myself yet. I also got the nicest compliments of a colleague of my husband about my travel blog, which has been a huge motivation boost for me. I wrote the blog to note things of our trip down, and to give our worrying parents something to calm their nerves with, *g* and in doing so I allowed myself just to write as I wanted to, often stream-of-consciousness-like. The colleague had just wanted to look at some pics, then started to read and couldn't stop again, saying she felt as if she'd been there. Can you get a better compliment? I don't think so. *beams* She also said I should consider writing professionally. ^^
I reported my tally on the 13th only just now, and you might have overlooked my late comment on the 12th as I'm not on the list yet. *makes mental note to get better at commenting on the daily posts in time* *blushes*
Tally for today: so far, about an hour or so of mulling my fest prompt over in my mind and "writing" parts of it in my mind, too. A token sentence written down on the drawer fic just to show something, and a bit more editing and re-writing on that right now, for half an hour or so.
Edit: make that an hour and about 500 words, heh. :o)

Apparently a lot of people visiting from warmer countries have found the cool Nordic temperatures very soothing. :-) My silly countrymen don't realize how lucky we are not to have sweltering heat. (Though admittedly it results in crops, berries etc. being late.)

Good luck with the Silmarillion fest! Sounds like an interesting challenge for your writing! And no worries, I'll add you on the tally for the previous days as well.

And that's awesome about the lovely feedback on your travel blog! Sounds like a wonderful compliment indeed!

I can definitely relate to your exhaustion, and I wish you sweet dreams and a long and peaceful night's rest.

I, too, had a long and tiring day. I did, however, write a poem for my 19th wedding anniversary, which is tomorrow. It's been a tradition for me to write a poem for my husband for that occasion, and I'm glad I had enough brain power left to manage it. :-)

I'm still mulling my Remix fic -- talking to Navaan helped me crystallise my plans for it, I think; I just need to actually start writing! But I do believe planning counts, and I did that on Days 8 and 9. And then I made someone 8,000 words of beta over Days 10 and 11 ;) In lieu of actual writing on Remix, I decided to noodle at the last chapter of one of my WIPs; I've been doing that for Days 12 and 13, but it's kind of hard going and I actually fell asleep over my handheld last night, lol. Hopefully it gets more exciting soon!

Planning definitely counts! Sometimes you very much need to plan before you can start writing! And beta-reading that much sounds like a lot, too! And I'm glad your plans about the Remix fic are getting clear now!
