Write Every Day, August Day #19

Not much to add since my previous post was just six hours ago. I slept away some of the exhaustion of the past week (and I didn't exactly sleep well last night, though it was partly my own fault due to staying up late talking to my friend!). Now I've been glad to have a fic fest deadline distracting me from the more depressing things in the world. Creativity is a good thing.

Today's Writing

I just successfully uploaded my Rare Pair Fest fic! Did quite a bit of editing tonight, and now I've got a decent, complete version. It still needs some work before the reveals, and I hope my beta will have time to comment on it, including pointing out any language errors it might have, but at least it's a readable story. Now I think I'll get some bedtime yoga and then hopefully sleeeeep.

2.5k later I have not only finished off my other rare pair fic but also totally re-written my first approach to the other. Um. Oops? but done and before deadline and surprisingly more polished than the first approach despite speed (though I'll definitely have to be proofing and editing before reveals too now) so I guess sometimes ideas just want to be made...

That sounds like a productive day! Congratulations! And sounds nice that the other fic is turning out more polished than the first approach despite the speed - that's probably a sign that the new approach works!

I'm glad you caught up on some sleep--that's so important!

I'm counting work-related writing for today, as I've spent several hours revising, updating, and re-envisioning old assignments for the new school year. My brain is so tired now that there's no way I can spend time with Steve and Tony, but I'm holding out hope that I may find that time tomorrow. *crosses fingers*

Sounds like the work-related writing is being quite demanding! Not surprising given the time of the year. Good luck with getting around to writing your story, too!

I only managed around 200 words of my slavefic - I took a nice long walk and then stopped in a cute tea place to write, but the inspiration just wasn't there today.

Sometimes the inspiration just isn't there, but sometimes you just need a more quiet day!

I spent another day niece-herding, and managed about two token sentences as I was too tired for more. It's in deed an exhausting activity - in a good way, I love having them around, but three days and one night in a week doesn't leave me much room for anything else. *g*

Thank you! Not surprised that niece-herding doesn't leave much energy and time for writing. Two sentences are still two more sentences than you had before. :-)

Congrats on posting and editing! And it's good to hear the writing is going well and is proving a distraction. Thinking of you ♥

Days 15 to 17 were spent on canon review and then writing (very slowly) the next chapter of collabfic. It's been a fluffy and undemanding story thus far, but we've reached the part where Plot Happens, and that is going slowly.

Day 18 was spent email answering. And tomorrow I'm going to make a start on my Remix story! I have it vaguely planned in my head; hopefully it is as easy in its execution as I hope!

OMG, work and social life have been so busy and I haven't had time to look at starting Remix! I have till 10 Sept, right? Loads of time (she says, side-eyeing this ;))

Thaaaanks ;) Plot happened and then was edited, so that part's good. Not so good is the lack of a start on Remix! Hopefully I'll get down to some of it tomorrow...

Congrats for finishing! I also managed to upload my rarepairs fic yesterday and I had to last minute change some things about it to make it work, but then it came out better than I expected. At least I still like it this morning.

All together about 1500 words for me.
