Write Every Day, August Day #21

Today I went to see the first part of National Theatre's Angels in America in NT Live in our cinema. (Not quite live, no, and we get these later than the UK public do, but the point is that we do get them!) Very, very intense stuff, impressive performances by the actors! Especially the latter half was riveting and fascinating. The first half felt like it was starting kind of slowly, but the build-up paid off. I look forward to the second part! Even if that is even longer.

Writing

Since I went almost straight to cinema from work, I didn't have much writing time, but I did write a bit in longhand in my notebook during one of the intervals. Not much, just a couple of paragraphs on one of my original ideas, a bit of a character/thematic study. But I'm curious to see this one making some progress again, because it seemed halted for a while there. And now I really need to hit the bed...

Aww, I'm so glad you got to see it! It was definitely the theatre experience of the year for me.

2k of origfic for me today, and then I spent the evening seeing The Kite Runner, which works surprisingly well as a play.

Yay for reigniting the spark of an older idea. I love when that happens to me. :-)

I wrote 340 or so words on Steve/Tony again today, and it really made me smile to be working on that story, so I'm going to try to keep up the momentum and finish it before I start back to work next week.

Isn't it awesome how seeing something often directly inspires you? I'm usually writing on my phone and sometimes even carry a slim, lightweight bluetooth keyboard so I can write more comfortably. *g* (Longhand doesn't really work for me; I'm left-handed, and what I manage in situations without a full table I often have difficulties to read afterwards. *g* It's also far too slow for my crazy brain.)
Token words yesterday again, as I was partly mulling over my challenge assignment and partly thinking about a possible pinch-hit I'd agreed to, but which then wasn't needed after all. A new plot-bunny was born, though. *g*

I did a ton of work writing? Then I took a couple of meetings and calls. And went to pilates class, and also on a date! Which was exciting, but it also meant that there was little fandom writing happening :(

I love that there is such a thing as the National Theatre screenings. We catch them regularly at our cinema. It's amazing.

I had a really bad day. Went home a few hours after getting to work with stomach cramps and went from feeling terribly sick to being asleep and back. Wrote an alibi sentence in the evening when everything settled a bit. At home on sick leave now. -.- This is a terrible year, health-wise.

*hugs* I'm sorry you're sick, sounds really crappy. I hope you feel better soon! It's especially tough if you've been sick often.
