Not as much as I hoped, but I've been quite tired and listless today. I wrote a bit on the novel, and spent some time typing up things I'd written in my notebook for it. Didn't finish transcribing the whole scene, but at least I'm further along than I was before.

Just now I started a ficlet for one of the bingo cards, wrote 135 words in it and then my brain decided to freeze mid-sentence, so I guess I'm calling it a night.

As a reward for finishing the first part of my long fic, I finished off a partly-written ficlet and sent it off to beta.

Gardening was exhausting today, but I'm making slow progress. No more holes uncovered today though. Writing went very well though.

April 26th - 1655 words! One complete story for a challenge, written and posted, just in time for the next lot of challenge prompts to be posted tomorrow... It never ends!

You're very diligent about challenges! I follow communities and look at the prompts and think "what a nice prompt, I could write something for it" and then I maybe start but usually don't finish. Though it's still good for exploring ideas. Anyway, well done for a productive writing day, as well as progress in the garden. :-)

Thank you! This is from years of self-training, although now I'm having to train myself that it's okay to skip the odd challenge here and there. I do write off and on for some challenges that don't have deadlines, but I've found the deadlines have helped keep me motivated when life or anxiety are trying to distract me from daily writing. Disappearing into another world for a little while each day can be very therapeutic.

There's a lot to do in the garden and it's slow going, but I'm not in a rush. I like being out in the garden snipping away =)

I'm getting started on an exchange fic, today, since last night as I was falling asleep I finally figured out what the plot had to be to make it work. :3 I've written a couple hundred words so far, and hopefully I'll get more before nighttime.

Yay for figuring out the plot of your story as well as still remembering it in the morning! It's sometimes hazardous to get ideas when you're about to fall asleep. Good luck with your fic!

I had a similar brain freeze moment this morning. Worked on a different part of the fic tonight and that seemed to help.

Glad that working on a different part of the fic helped! I've noticed it's definitely useful for me to write non-linearly, so that I can change which part I'm writing, based on what works for me at the moment.

I added 960 to Bond/Q and am almost finished, I think. It was like pulling teeth for a lot of the afternoon, though, largely because I'm just reluctant to finish this story. *sighs*

*hugs* Thanks. I was mostly just tired... It kind of feels like I might need more off days, or better ways to recharge. Been feeling better today, though!

Sorry the writing felt so difficult, and that you're finding it hard to let go of the story. Good luck with the finishing! But yay for still getting in a lot of writing.

Typed up some stuff from the other day, making edits as I went. Then I did a terrifying thing - grabbed the first 53 pages, cleaned out the notes to myself that were still hanging around (although I actually dealt with one or two of them as I did it) and emailed them as a PDF to a friend for reading. She knows that right now I am not in a space to hear anything other than "yes, keep going" or "for the sake of the world I am telling you to put down the laptop and go work on another story idea because No" but I am still terrified.
Somehow I got myself fixated on "when I get to this point I am giving it to other people" so I have done that and I will poke a couple other people about reading the same pdf. I still don't know *why* I wanted to do that and really let us hope I don't get feedback in the next few days because it's likely to make me stop writing for a bit when I get it.

Congratulations for taking the terrifying leap! I hope that the results will be useful for you. It's good that your friend knows that this isn't the time for any other feedback than whether she thinks you should keep writing it, and it's really good that you also know what kind of feedback you can handle at the moment. In the past I've had instances of both giving and receiving feedback that was the wrong kind for the moment, and it can be really difficult. Hopefully you've also been able to tell the other people what kind of feedback you feel up for at the moment?

My take on things is usually that if you believe in it yourself, you should keep writing. But I know sometimes one needs someone else's opinion.

Day 26 - another drabble to go with the set I wrote several days ago, so now it is 500 words (a drabble pair, a double, and a single to conclude) and I think it is a complete thing.

Yay for a complete set! Go you! I wish I was a little better at writing stories that are complete with few words. It's so satisfying to be able to finish things. :-)
